We recently completed a master bathroom renovation with Handyman on Demand LLC, and they are the best contractors we have ever worked with. Sobir and Sara were professional, communicative, patient, and truly listened to what we wanted. Their crew was skilled, respectful of our home, and left everything clean at the end of each day. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding — we couldn’t be happier with the result and highly recommend them.

We remodeled our master bathroom, replaced the old vanity, installed new tile, removed the tub and expanded the shower, installed a heater fan, new fixtures, and wainscoting. Handyman on Demand did an outstanding job - their team was professional, courteous, clean, and quick. We appreciate that they were really willing to work with us throughout the project. We ended up expanding the work and adding some extra recessed ceiling lights, replaced all the toilets throughout the house, and replaced our tankless hot water heater. They were able to complete everything quickly, provided outstanding drywall detailing, sanding, and painting, and kept everything clean throughout the entire effort. We would not hesitate to recommend them, and will be using them for future projects.

February 2026: Handyman on Demand sistered joists; renovated a half bathroom; repaired drywall; mounted a TV; hung wallpaper; painted several rooms; and installed new lights and light switches. Their team showed up on time, did high quality work, and cleaned up each day before leaving. They also accommodated an expanding scope and design changes along the way. Their office was communicative about costs and timeline and answered questions I had before and during the work. I will definitely work with Handyman on Demand again!

Bathroom Remodeling Tips for Columbia, MD Homeowners
Know What Columbia Homes Are Built Like Before Demo Starts
Columbia townhomes built in the 1970s and early 1980s have specific construction that affects bathroom remodeling. The supply plumbing is often copper in good condition, but drain lines may be original ABS or cast iron. Floor systems in stacked townhomes limit how much you can modify drain locations without major work.
Proper Waterproofing Is Non-Negotiable
In Columbia village townhomes, shower waterproofing is especially important because a leak on an upper-floor bathroom can damage the unit below. We use full-coverage Schluter Kerdi or RedGard on all shower wet areas.
Design Around Your Existing Plumbing First
Most Columbia townhome bathrooms have a drain in a fixed location within a concrete slab or floor system. We design your new shower layout around the existing drain — in most cases this works perfectly and saves you $1,500 to $3,000 in plumbing costs.
Ventilation Is Your Best Mold Prevention
Columbia townhomes have limited attic and ceiling space for exhaust fan ducting. We always assess the ventilation path before specifying a fan and recommend properly ducted solutions that meet Howard County code.
Large Format Tile Makes Any Bathroom Feel Bigger
Columbia townhome hall baths are typically 5x8 feet. Using 12x24 porcelain tile on the floor run lengthwise creates a more open, contemporary look. We show you material combinations at the estimate so you can see how it will look.
Always Pull Permits — It Protects You at Resale
Howard County requires permits for plumbing and electrical work in Columbia bathroom renovations. We manage the complete permit process and give you copies of all documentation at project completion.
