Maryland’s Local Bathroom Remodeling Company
If your bathroom still looks like it did when you moved in — outdated tile, a cramped layout, a tub nobody uses — you're not alone. Most Baltimore County homes were built with buildergrade bathrooms that were never meant to last decades. Handyman on Demand, LLC transforms those worn-out spaces into clean, functional, and modern bathrooms that actually work for how you live.
We're a licensed Maryland contractor (MHIC #117279) based in Reisterstown, serving homeowners across Baltimore County, Carroll County, Howard County, and Harford County. Every project is done by our own crew — not subcontractors you've never met.
Our Bathroom Remodeling Services
Walk-In Shower Installation
We tear out old fiberglass tubs and enclosed showers and replace them with custom tile walk-in showers — frameless glass, bench seating, built-in niches, rain shower heads, and waterproofing systems that hold up for years.
Full Bathroom Gut & Remodel
Down to the studs if needed. We reconfigure layouts, move plumbing, handle permits, handle electrical, tile, vanities, mirrors, lighting — everything to one contractor and one timeline.
Vanity & Storage Upgrades
Single-to-double sink conversions, floating vanities, custom cabinetry, medicine cabinets, and linen storage that actually fits the space.
Tub-to-Shower Conversions
The most popular bathroom upgrade in Baltimore County. We remove that unused garden tub and replace it with a low-threshold walk-in shower — ideal for aging-in-place or just easier daily use.
Tile Work
Floors, walls, shower surrounds. Ceramic, porcelain, stone. Large format tile, heated floors, intricate patterns — we do it all properly, with correct substrate and waterproofing behind every tile.
Fixture & Lighting Upgrades
New toilets, faucets, showerheads, exhaust fans, LED recessed lighting, smart mirrors, and sensor switches. Quick upgrades with a big visual impact.
Basement & Half-Bath Additions
Adding a bathroom where there wasn't one. We handle rough-in plumbing, permits with Baltimore County or the relevant jurisdiction, and full finish work.

We recently completed a master bathroom renovation with Handyman on Demand LLC, and they are the best contractors we have ever worked with. Sobir and Sara were professional, communicative, patient, and truly listened to what we wanted. Their crew was skilled, respectful of our home, and left everything clean at the end of each day. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding — we couldn’t be happier with the result and highly recommend them.

We remodeled our master bathroom, replaced the old vanity, installed new tile, removed the tub and expanded the shower, installed a heater fan, new fixtures, and wainscoting. Handyman on Demand did an outstanding job - their team was professional, courteous, clean, and quick. We appreciate that they were really willing to work with us throughout the project. We ended up expanding the work and adding some extra recessed ceiling lights, replaced all the toilets throughout the house, and replaced our tankless hot water heater. They were able to complete everything quickly, provided outstanding drywall detailing, sanding, and painting, and kept everything clean throughout the entire effort. We would not hesitate to recommend them, and will be using them for future projects.

February 2026: Handyman on Demand sistered joists; renovated a half bathroom; repaired drywall; mounted a TV; hung wallpaper; painted several rooms; and installed new lights and light switches. Their team showed up on time, did high quality work, and cleaned up each day before leaving. They also accommodated an expanding scope and design changes along the way. Their office was communicative about costs and timeline and answered questions I had before and during the work. I will definitely work with Handyman on Demand again!

Bathroom Remodeling Tips for Maryland Homeowners
Waterproof Everything Behind the Tile
The most common cause of bathroom failure years after a remodel is water getting behind tile through failed grout or inadequate substrate. Always insist on cement board or a Schluter/Wedi waterproofing system — never drywall behind wet areas. Ask your contractor to show you the substrate before tile goes up.
Set Your Budget Before You Pick Materials
It's easy to fall in love with a $40/sqft tile when your budget supports $12/sqft. Lock in your overall project budget first, then let that guide your material choices. A great contractor will help you maximize the look within your number — not upsell you past it.
Don't Move Plumbing Unless You Have To
Relocating a drain or supply line can add $1,500–$4,000 to a project. If your existing plumbing is in good shape and in a workable location, design around it. Most beautiful bathroom remodels work with the existing drain location.
Ventilation Is Not Optional
A properly sized exhaust fan — vented to the outside, not into the attic — is the single most important mold prevention investment in any bathroom. Most Maryland homes are under-ventilated. Upgrade to a quiet, humidity-sensing fan while walls are open.
Large Format Tile Makes Small Bathrooms Look Bigger
Counter-intuitively, larger tile with fewer grout lines makes a small bathroom feel more open. 12x24 or 24x24 tile on a bathroom floor creates a cleaner, more expansive look than 4x4 or 6x6 tile. Just make sure your contractor uses self-leveling compound — large tiles require a flatter substrate.
Pull Permits on Anything That Moves
In Maryland, unpermitted plumbing or electrical work can create problems when you sell your home. If the work touches a drain, supply line, or electrical circuit, it should be permitted. A licensed contractor handles this for you — it's not your burden.
