This Westminster project by the numbers

  • 5 days from demolition to finished bathroom
  • $8k–$10k labor and most materials
  • 2 sinks on a new oak double vanity
  • 1 year labor warranty on the work

Where we started

Down to the Studs on Day One

This Westminster bathroom needed more than new finishes. We opened every wall and the ceiling so the room could be rebuilt properly: new electrical boxes for the lights and vanity, updated plumbing for two sinks and the tub, and solid framing behind the new walls.

The homeowners chose and bought their own double vanity. We supplied the rest of the materials, did all the work and made sure the vanity, mirrors and lights lined up with the new plumbing and wiring.

  • Walls and ceiling opened to the framing and insulation
  • New electrical boxes and wiring run for lighting and outlets
  • Plumbing reworked for a double vanity and the tub and shower valve
  • Tub wall framing checked and prepared before the new surround

How we built it

Studs to Finished in 5 Days

A complete rebuild done in one work week, with the crew keeping the rest of the house clean as they went.

  1. Step 1

    Demo and rough-in

We removed the old tub surround, vanity, flooring, drywall and ceiling, then ran new wiring and electrical boxes and reworked the plumbing for two sinks.

  2. Step 2

    Walls and ceiling

New drywall and ceiling went up, and the tub area was prepared for its new surround with a long recessed niche built into the back wall.

  3. Step 3

    Tub, surround and floor

The white tub and subway-style surround went in, then wood-look flooring was laid through the whole room.

  4. Step 4

    Vanity and finish

Paint, the homeowner’s oak double vanity, matte black faucets and tub trim, mirrors, light fixtures, curved shower rod and the final walkthrough.

The after

Warm, Bright and Easy to Clean

Light oak, white and matte black give this bathroom a clean modern look that still feels warm. Two sinks make busy mornings easier, and the full-width niche keeps every bottle off the tub ledge.

What a Bathroom Like This Costs in Westminster

This project came to about $8,000–$10,000 for labor and most of the materials. The homeowners supplied their own double vanity, so it is not included in that number. What drove the price: a full gut to the studs, new wiring and electrical boxes, plumbing for a second sink, a new tub and surround with a built-in niche, and new floors, drywall and ceiling.

Buying a vanity or fixtures yourself can save money, and we’re happy to work that way. For full pricing, read our guide on how much a bathroom remodel costs in Maryland, or get a ballpark with the free cost estimator. Every estimate is written and itemized.

Remodels that move plumbing or add circuits in Westminster go through Carroll County permitting; we handle the permits and inspections for you.
