Montgomery County’s Local Bathroom Remodeling Company
Montgomery County is one of the wealthiest counties in the United States and one of the most demanding markets for home improvement contractors in Maryland. From Potomac's estate homes to Bethesda's upscale in-fill construction to Gaithersburg's established neighborhoods to Silver Spring's eclectic mix of mid-century and newer housing — Handyman on Demand serves homeowners throughout Montgomery County with bathroom remodeling at the level this market demands. We know Montgomery County's permit department, we understand the high standards of this market, and we deliver licensed, quality work throughout the county.
Montgomery County homeowners expect more — and they notice when a contractor delivers less. This is a market where quality of execution, proper permitting, and a contractor who communicates are not optional. We bring the same licensed crew, the same waterproofing standards, and the same quality approach to Montgomery County that we bring to every other county we serve. Montgomery County also has its own permit department that is entirely separate from Baltimore, Howard, and Carroll Counties — we know their process and build every project to Montgomery County inspection standards.
Bathroom Remodeling Services We Offer in Montgomery County
We work in all types of Montgomery County homes — luxury estate homes in Potomac and North Potomac, upscale colonials and contemporary in-fill construction in Bethesda and Chevy Chase, established mid-century and 1960s-1980s homes throughout Rockville and Gaithersburg, newer construction in Clarksburg and Germantown, and a wide range of housing in Silver Spring, Wheaton, and Aspen Hill. Here is what we handle for Montgomery County homeowners:
Custom Walk-In Shower Installation
We demo old fiberglass tub surrounds and enclosed showers and build custom tile walk-in showers tailored to your Montgomery County home. Frameless glass enclosures, built-in niches, bench seating, rain shower heads, and full waterproofing systems designed to last decades.
Full Bathroom Gut & Remodel
When the bathroom needs more than a refresh — we go down to the studs, reconfigure layouts, move plumbing where needed, pull permits with Montgomery County, and build everything from scratch. Tile, vanity, lighting, electrical, plumbing, painting — one contractor, one timeline, one point of contact throughout.
Vanity, Storage & Fixture Upgrades
The most popular bathroom upgrade we do throughout Montgomery County. We remove the unused tub, properly waterproof the footprint, and build a modern walk-in shower in its place. Perfect for aging-in-place, safety upgrades, or just a more functional daily routine.
Tub-to-Shower Conversions
New vanities, double-sink conversions, floating cabinets, recessed medicine cabinets, LED mirrors, smart exhaust fans, GFCI outlet upgrades, and updated faucets. Quick upgrades that dramatically modernize the space without a full gut remodel.
Tile Installation & Replacement
Floor tile, shower walls, tub surrounds, and accent walls. Ceramic, porcelain, stone, large-format, and mosaic — properly set on the right substrate with correct grout and sealing so it does not crack, shift, or grow mold behind it.
Basement & Half-Bath Additions
Adding a bathroom where there was not one before — rough-in plumbing, permits with Montgomery County, and full finish work. Ideal for finished basements and home additions throughout Montgomery County.
Montgomery County Luxury Bathroom Remodeling — Potomac to Bethesda
Montgomery County's high-end markets — Potomac, North Potomac, Bethesda, Chevy Chase, and Darnestown — demand luxury-level bathroom execution: large-format natural stone or porcelain, frameless glass systems, steam generators, radiant heat, custom built-in vanities, and wet rooms. We have completed luxury primary bath renovations in Montgomery County estate homes and know exactly how to deliver at this standard with all required permits and documentation.

We recently completed a master bathroom renovation with Handyman on Demand LLC, and they are the best contractors we have ever worked with. Sobir and Sara were professional, communicative, patient, and truly listened to what we wanted. Their crew was skilled, respectful of our home, and left everything clean at the end of each day. The craftsmanship and attention to detail are outstanding — we couldn’t be happier with the result and highly recommend them.

We remodeled our master bathroom, replaced the old vanity, installed new tile, removed the tub and expanded the shower, installed a heater fan, new fixtures, and wainscoting. Handyman on Demand did an outstanding job - their team was professional, courteous, clean, and quick. We appreciate that they were really willing to work with us throughout the project. We ended up expanding the work and adding some extra recessed ceiling lights, replaced all the toilets throughout the house, and replaced our tankless hot water heater. They were able to complete everything quickly, provided outstanding drywall detailing, sanding, and painting, and kept everything clean throughout the entire effort. We would not hesitate to recommend them, and will be using them for future projects.

February 2026: Handyman on Demand sistered joists; renovated a half bathroom; repaired drywall; mounted a TV; hung wallpaper; painted several rooms; and installed new lights and light switches. Their team showed up on time, did high quality work, and cleaned up each day before leaving. They also accommodated an expanding scope and design changes along the way. Their office was communicative about costs and timeline and answered questions I had before and during the work. I will definitely work with Handyman on Demand again!

Bathroom Remodeling Tips for Montgomery County Homeowners
Know What Montgomery County Homes Are Built Like Before Demo Starts
Montgomery County homes range from pre-1960 Chevy Chase and Bethesda properties with original plumbing to 1970s and 80s Rockville and Gaithersburg homes with aging fiberglass surrounds to Potomac estate homes where the finishes are dated but the bones are solid. We assess the specific construction and plumbing condition of your home at the estimate — regardless of home value or neighborhood, no two projects are identical.
Waterproof Everything Behind the Tile — No Exceptions
Montgomery County's permit department enforces waterproofing standards on inspected bathroom projects. We use Schluter Kerdi or RedGard membrane on all wet surfaces, cement board on all wet walls, and properly sloped mortar beds on shower floors. For Montgomery County luxury properties with steam systems, we also waterproof the ceiling. Every project we complete in Montgomery County passes inspection.
Design Around Your Existing Plumbing First
Montgomery County homes in Potomac, Bethesda, and North Potomac are often on large lots with full basements or accessible crawlspaces, making plumbing modifications for layout changes or freestanding tub additions significantly more accessible than slab construction. In older Rockville and Gaithersburg homes, drain access varies — we assess this at the estimate.
Ventilation Is Your Best Defense Against Mold
Montgomery County homes in communities like Silver Spring, Wheaton, and Aspen Hill that are closer to urban areas tend to have more humidity during Maryland summers. Properly ducted, humidity-sensing exhaust fans are standard on every Montgomery County bathroom remodel we complete. In larger Potomac and Bethesda primary baths with steam systems, commercial-grade ventilation is required.
Large Format Tile Makes Every Bathroom Feel Bigger
For Potomac and Bethesda primary baths in estate and luxury homes, 24x48 or 36x36 large-format porcelain or natural stone creates a genuinely dramatic floor. For Rockville and Gaithersburg colonials and townhomes with standard-size hall baths, 12x24 tile creates the most impactful modernization within a realistic budget. We match the recommendation to the scale and character of your home.
Always Pull Permits in Montgomery County — It Protects You at Resale
Montgomery County has strict permit enforcement — all plumbing, electrical, and structural bathroom work requires permits. In Montgomery County's active and high-value real estate market, properly permitted and documented improvements are essential. Buyers at every price point in this market expect documentation. We pull every required permit and provide complete documentation at project completion.
