We repoint open joints, reset and replace loose or spalling brick, rebuild brick steps and repair small concrete areas like areaways and walkways. Older Maryland homes often need softer, lime-based mortar, so we match strength and color to the original instead of using a hard modern mix that damages old brick.

How much does repointing cost?
Repointing typically costs $10–$25 per square foot depending on height, access and mortar condition. A typical rowhouse facade of 200–400 square feet costs $2,000–$6,000 or more.
How often does brick need repointing?
Mortar usually lasts 50–75 years. Many older Baltimore-area homes are past that, and crumbling joints, gaps and water getting in are the signs.
Can you match my original mortar color?
Yes. We match color, texture and strength, and use lime-based mortar on older homes instead of hard portland cement.
Can you fix crumbling brick front steps?
Yes. We reset loose brick, rebuild treads and caps, and repair the base so the steps are solid again.
How long does repointing take?
Small areas take a day. Larger walls and facades take one to two weeks, depending on size and weather.
